Wyoma Burris

June 9, 1924 — June 4, 2018

Wyoma Doris Welty went home to the Lord on June 4, 2018. She was born June 9, 1924 to John P. and Gwendola "Barrett" Welty in a tarpaper house near the railroad tracks in Glenrock Wyoming. She married William Clark Burris on February 15th 1940. She was a member of the Winter Memorial Presbyterian Church and the Cornerstone Evangelical Church. She was also a Charter member of the Sage Glenn and Natrona County Homemakers club for 68 years. She received The Wyoming Homemakers Quealy award and the Unsung Hero award for Natrona County. Through the years she was awarded a certificate of reorganization from the Comforters for kids program, a Certificate of merit for 50 years of service from the UW/NC Cooperative Extension Service. A certificate of appreciation from the National Association for Community Education and a Certificate of appreciation form the Poison Spider school students She called many of the square dances she attended and also received a Bachelor of Square dancing Diploma. She was a 4H leader for 30 years and served as a Red Cross trained nurse at 4H camps and also as Chaperone for many events and trips. She was one of the first to help organize and volunteer for the State Program for getting Strep throat cultures for the students of Wyoming. Wyoma is survived by her Daughters Marjorie Graham, and Nancy (Bill) Pollock, Son Robert (Ellen) Burris, Grand children, Suzanne Graham, Gwendola(Wendy) Pollock, Heather Dahlke, Ben Pollock, Jim Jones, Delicia Mathson, and Jennifer Williams. She is also survived by 10 Great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her Parents John and Gwendola Welty, Husband Bill, 1 Brother Burl, 2 sisters, Meryl and Lucy 1 grandson Bruce, 1 Great grandson Lane, a Son in Law Tom and many other loved family members. Services will be held Tuesday June 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Cornerstone Evangelical Church 4100 Casper Mountain Road. Visitation is Monday June l, 2018 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm at the Bustards Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Natrona county 4H club, any Hospice service of your choice or Cornerstone Evangelical Church.
