Wray Garrison

November 12, 1951 — September 12, 2015

Andy Garrison, 63, passed away Saturday September 12, 2015 in Denver, Colorado, due to complications from heart surgery. His wife Nancy of 42 years was by Andy's side as he courageously battled through a very complicated procedure that he elected to endure so that he could spend more time with Nancy and their 2 beloved dogs, Calvin and Pandy. We will all miss Andy greatly but know that any pain he had to endure has been replaced with eternal peace and rest. Andy was born in Casper, Wyoming, on November 12, 1951 and spent part of his childhood in Ignacio, Colorado after which his family moved back to Wyoming where Andy attended Natrona High School. Andy followed his dad to work in the oil field at a young age and continued to work in the oil and gas industry in drilling, production, fabrication, engineering, and business development primarily in the state of Wyoming until he retired in December of 2014. During his career he worked for Koch Production, Natco, and Dave's Flow Measurement. He was known by colleagues in the oil and gas industry as a problem solver always working tirelessly to come up with a solution. Andy and Nancy built 7 homes together as Andy moved throughout the state of Wyoming due to career changes. Andy was an accomplished carpenter and woodworker known for his custom cabinetry and windows. Along with building houses, Andy and Nancy operated a pig farm outside Lovell, Wyoming for several years. After living in Lovell, Riverton, Glenrock, and Sheridan, Andy and Nancy moved back to Casper to be closer to family in 2006 and built another house without ever promising anyone it would be their last one. Despite Andy's weakening condition he continued to work on their new Casper house until he needed to leave for Denver for his heart surgery. When Andy was not building houses, he enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family, which of course included Calvin and Pandy. Andy is survived by his wife Nancy of 42 years, his mother Truley Garrison of Prescott, Arizona; his sister Teresa (Ron) Settle of Henderson, Texas; his brothers, Chad (Debbie) Garrison of Mesa, Arizona, and Dennis (Vanessa) Garrison of Tucson, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Garrison.
