William "Bill" Hileman

January 16, 1932 — December 7, 2019

Bill passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on December 7, 2019. He was born in Missoula, Montana on January 16, 1932 to William H. and Marjorie Hileman. The Hileman family moved to Casper when Bill was in the seventh grade, and he graduated from NCHS in 1949. During his high school years he excelled in athletics. This passion for sports continued in college and the military, and lead to his many years of coaching.

He married the love of his life, Nina, in 1967. They were married for 44 years.

Bill attended the University of Wyoming and received his Bachelor of Science in 1956. He was an outstanding college athlete, and was a member of the 1950 Skyline Champion Football Team, and the 1951 Gator Bowl Team. In 1952 he was voted top line-backer in the Skyline Conference.

He entered the United States Army in 1953, achieved the rank of First Lieutenant, and was honorably discharged in 1961. Bill continued to play football during his years of service in the military.

During his career, he taught and coached in Wheatland, Thermopolis, and Casper. He retired from NCHS in 1990. Bill was proud to be an educator, but his passion was coaching. He was inducted into the Wyoming Coaches Association in 1990. Bill remembered every student and athlete that he had the privilege of working with.

He loved his family and friends, coaching, solving math problems, and spending time at and

fixing up the cabin.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Nina; parents, William H. and Marjorie Hileman; brother, Robert; and two sons, Richard and Randy.

He is survived by his son, William T. (Deb); daughter, Joann (Perry); brother, Brock (LeVida); grandsons, William G. (Jessica); Tate (Jamie); Sean (Diann); and many great grandchildren.

No services are planned, cremation has taken place. When spring arrives he will be laid to rest next to Nina, at their cabin.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bill’s name to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions.
