Bill Puder went home to his Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Meadow Wind Assisted Living while under the care of Hospice. He was 94 years old. Bill was born on November 15, 1923, in Greeley, Colorado, to Glenn and Eugenia (Crews) Puder. He was raised in Greeley until 1937 when his family moved to Edgerton, Wyoming. He graduated from Midwest High School in 1941 and entered the U.S. Navy in 1942. He served in the Southwest Pacific with the Naval Amphibious Forces during World War II. In April 1947 he married Marian Esp. They made their home in Casper while raising their five children. Bill built their house. He worked at Amoco Refinery for 34 years and retired as a Lite Oils Shift Foreman in April 1981. In 1998 he married Dorothy Winckler at College Heights Baptist Church. They enjoyed a 20th Wedding Anniversary celebration at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living in May. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, his sisters Lorraine Shultz and Mary Bailey, his son John, and his granddaughter Angela (Christensen) Jones. Bill was an active member of College Heights Baptist Church and was its eldest member. Bill dearly loved his family, church family, friends, and Jesus most of all. He faithfully served the body of Christ at College Heights in various capacities over the years. Each week he looked forward to being in the Men's Sunday School Class to study God's Word. He was a devoted husband and Dad, well known for his generosity, he never met a stranger and always took time to visit, he enjoyed opportunities to share a good laugh, and he especially loved his pets and the wildlife that came to their yard. He played golf every chance that he could with his best friend Don Wood and even made a hole in one! He cherished traveling to visit family members. Bill is survived by his loving wife Dorothy and his children, Janice Ambler, Donald Puder, Jeanne Stott (Ric), and Nancy Weller; "adopted" daughter Myrtie Peterson (Wayne); grandchildren, Paul Christensen, Sean Puder, Greg Puder, Richard Stott, Michelle (Puder) Gaither, Teddi (Weller) Phillips, Jason Stott, Christine (Weller) Fryar, and John Ambler; many great- and great-great-grandchildren; cousin Lorraine (Melton) Jones (Ivan); nieces Sherry (Bailey) McDonald and Carolyn (Shultz) Smith (Wes); nephews Jerry and Richard Bailey and Richard Shultz; and Dorothy's children Harlan Winckler (Bonnie), Loren Winckler (Rose), Clyde Winckler (Kimi), Dennis Winckler (Judy). Funeral services will be held at College Heights Baptist Church's Chapel (at 21st and Walnut; follow the drive) at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018. Graveside service will immediately follow at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Faith Children's Village in Zambia c/o College Heights Baptist Church, 1927 South Walnut, Casper 82601.
