William Martin "Marty" Overeem CASPER- Marty, 68, passed away Friday March 1, 2019, just shy of his 69th birthday, from sudden cardiac arrest at his home in Casper, Wyoming. He was born March 16, 1950 in Muskegon, MI and moved to Wyoming and attended Kelly Walsh High School and Casper College. Marty was a salesman at Big Horn Equipment, Arch Mineral Coal, SWACO, Rocky Mountain Brake, Brake Supply, and Mine and Mill; he worked as an independent electrician at his family owned business, Independent Electric Company, he also worked as a loader at UPS before retiring. He was also a business owner for more than 20 years, serving BNSF Railroad and Outfitting & Guiding. Marty started and was the leader of the Top Gun 4-H Shooting Sports Program as well the leader for Leather Craft. He was also a proud member of the NRA. Marty loved being outdoors; hunting on the Ferris Mountain, trolling Pathfinder and Alcova Lake, exploring for artifacts, gardening and collecting many things. He enjoyed his alcohol, creating new recipes of wild game in his smoker and loved teaching his grandchildren how to fish, hunt and play board games. He was extremely protective of his dogs and truly loved and cared deeply for them. They were an important part of his life. Marty was always a hard worker and in a time of need and could be counted on to give his only shirt off his back to help someone. He had a knack for nicknaming everyone he was close to. Marty's past time was fixing up the cabin at the Ferris, reading CJ BOX books and rebuilding his vintage Ford Mustang, which he later sold and reloading ammunition for the next years hunt. One of his favorite hunting trips was in Canada when he successfully filled two bear tags. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brother. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Donna Overeem of Casper, three daughters; Kerrie Langmade of Casper, Kimberly (Brad) Morrison of Casper, Kellie Overeem (Cody) of Louisiana. Three brothers; Michael, Mathew, Jim and one sister; Bonnie. Six grandchildren; Michael (Ammo Boy) and Leeanne (LeeLee) Langmade, Brayden (Bam Bam) and Mikayla (Goofey Mac) Morrison, and Avery (Cable Kid) and Haley (Bucky) Martin, and many close family and friends. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bustard's Funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held this summer to honor him and his love of the outdoors.
