William Jones

February 20, 1921 — September 5, 2013

Services for William E. "Bill" Jones will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Bustard's Funeral Home with Chaplain Royce Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Monday, September 9, 2013 at Bustard's. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Bill was born February 20th, 1921 in Casper to Wm. "Earl" Jones and Mary Irene Burns. He died on Sept. 5th 2013 after a short illness at Central Wyoming Hospice. He grew up in Casper and graduated from NCHS in 1939. He started working for Wm. Bustard while in high school. He worked for a short time at the Casper Commissary where he met his wife Frances. He returned to work at Bustard's Funeral Home and was drafted into the U.S. Navy during WWII. After his honorable discharge, he went to Mortuary School in St. Louis Mo. After school he returned to Casper and spent the rest of his career at Bustard's Funeral Home retiring in 1986 after 43 years. He served on the vestry at St Marks Episcopal Church; was a member of the Civitan Club and the Lions Club. He was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on Jackson Lake. He was a St Louis Cardinal baseball fan and attended NCHS football games his entire life. He was a Silver Life Master in Duplicate Bridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim; two sons, Ben Amend and Larry Jones and his beloved grandson, David Amend. He is survived by his wife Frances of 72 years; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Dan Bush, two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, four great- great grandchildren and his dog Belle. In lieu of flowers donations to Central Wyoming Hospice Home, Meals on Wheels, the Casper Humane Society or donor's choice would be appreciated.
