William Evans

July 25, 1926 — July 30, 2013

A celebration of life for William T. (Bill) Evans Jr., 87, will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Oregon Trail Veterans Chapel in Evansville the Rev. Leigh Earle officiating. Mr. Evans passed away on July 30, 2013, after a brief stay at Central Wyoming Hospice. He was born in Casper, July 25, 1926, to Trevor James and Faye Leach Evans, a Natrona County pioneering family. Bill grew up in Casper but graduated high school in Taft, California. Mr. Evans served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 in the 2nd Division - 37th Field Artillery Battalion. After his service to his country, Bill returned to Casper and was involved in ranching and property management in addition to working for the Texas Company. On August 12, 1948, he married the love of his life, Lily L. Adair, in Casper at St. Mark's Episcopal Church. Rector Marcus B. Hitchcock officiated at their marriage. They were happily married for nearly 65 years. From this union four children were born, William, Rebecca, Kim, and Laurie. Mr. Evans is survived by his loving wife and three daughters, Becky Herrmann (Bob), Kim Evans (Wayne), Laurie Reese (Tom), as well as daughter-in-law, Vicki Evans. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, William T. II (Bill); an infant granddaughter, Elizabeth A. Reese; his parents and four sisters, Marilyn Edith, Corrine, and Ellen. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
