W.L. "Bill" Dorn passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 in Casper, Wyoming after a short battle with cancer. Bill was born in Denver, Colorado on January 3, 1930. At a young age he moved to Wyoming. While in Wyoming he worked with Frank Robbins; of Glenrock, breaking horses which included the famous Desert Dust. In 1948 he graduated from Natrona County High School where he excelled in track and boxing. After graduation Bill enlisted in the US Air Force where he served 4 years. After the Air Force Bill returned to Casper where he worked many different jobs. He worked at The Trail Bar, then went on to Frosty's Bar, and then to Hank's Bar. Finally in 1971 he bought the Horseshoe Bar in which he owned and operated for many years. In 1956 Bill married the love of his life, Mary I. Green. Together they loved to spend time at their cabin, fish, and travel, taking a camera everywhere they went. Later Bill and Mary introduced their son, Kary into the world. Bill and Kary got to work side by side for many years. In Bill's Free time he loved to play golf. He always joked he would quit the game if it wasn't for the tee-time that was already booked for the next day. Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mother Lee-Ray, Bernard Sullivan, and daughter Dee-Dee who died during birth. He is survived by his wife, Mary of Casper, WY, son Kary of Casper, WY, grandchildren; Shane of Scottsdale, AZ, Brandon of Casper, WY and Garrett of Casper, WY. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Family and friends are welcome at 9:00 AM with the service beginning at 10:00 AM. Graveside service will be held immediately following at Oregon Trail Veteran's Cemetery, with a wake to follow at Paradise Valley Country Club.
