Warren Wallace

Warren Gerald Wallace, age 89, of Casper, passed away January 2, 2017 at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living. Born October 3, 1927 in Carnegie, PA, the son of James C. and Ethel May (Jamison) Wallace, he was raised and educated in Bridgeville, PA. Warren enlisted in the U.S. Army, October 30, 1945 and served with the 1st Calvary Division in Japan until August 25, 1948. On October 1, 1960, he married Martha Ann Ritts, of Emlenton, PA, and together they raised three children, Mark Allen, Carol Ann, and David Wayne. He attended Penn Technical Institute for 2 years before joining Gulf Research and Development Co. in Harmerville, PA. As a geophysical instrument technician, he traveled worldwide on oil exploration projects for Gulf Oil. In June 1976 he was transferred to Casper, WY as Field Supervisor, later becoming Staff Geophycist. He retired from Gulf Oil in March 1985, after 35 years of service. Warren's greatest pleasures were his family, traveling, hiking, and woodworking. He especially loved his granddaughters and Siberian Husky. Warren is survived by wife, Martha; sons, David and Mark Wallace of Casper; granddaughters Sarah and Sabrina Schroefel of Worland; and sisters, Patty of FL, Dolores of TX, and Peggy of PA. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Schroefel, and grandson, Steven Schroefel, of Worland, and brothers, Tom and Jim of FL. A memorial service will be held at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living on Tuesday, January, 10, 2017 at 2PM. Memorial contributions in Warren's name may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice.
