Walter "Babe" Henry Schnorenberg, Jr. was born on October 29, 1926 to Walter Henry and Edna Mary (Gagstetter) Schnorenberg at Van Tassell, Wyoming and passed away peacefully on August 3, 2017. He lived in Van Tassell, Wyoming until 1940, when the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he lived for a short time. They later moved to Lusk, Wyoming where Babe attended high school until he was drafted into the army. He served two years in the Philippine Islands and was discharged in 1946 after the war ended. Babe worked in the oil fields after leaving the armed services and later as a mechanic at the Ford and Chevrolet garages in Lusk. On September 27, 1953 Babe married Betty Kelly. After leaving Lusk in 1974 he worked as a pipefitter until his retirement in 1988. Survivors include his wife Betty; two sons, Steven Michael (Celia) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Kelly James (Nancy) of Lone Tree, Colorado; two granddaughters, Lynn Leslie (Ryan) and Traci Bower (Rick); three great grandsons, Joshua, Mathew, and James; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, as well as his "best friend," Pixie, his Yorkshire Terrier. Babe was mechanically inclined and could fix just about anything. He liked helping others and often helped those he met in his work, his neighbors, and many others. He will continue to help people as he has donated his body for research. Babe never met a stranger and befriended many people throughout his life. He will be missed by many. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville with a reception following the service from 3-5 P.M. at Highland Park Community Church in Casper.
