Vonna Firestone

Vonna L. Firestone, 83, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away June 6, 2017, of heart failure after a long illness. Vonna was the youngest of six children born in Nelson, Nebraska, on August 13, 1933, to Mable and Dio Holsteen. She attended Hastings College, in Hastings, Nebraska, for two years where she received an elementary school teaching certificate. She moved to Rawlins, Wyoming, to teach fourth grade where she met her future husband, James B. Firestone. They were married in Nelson, Nebraska, on December 27, 1953. Vonna and Jim resided in Rawlins, Wyoming, from 1963 to 1985. In 1985 they moved to Casper, Wyoming. Vonna is survived by her husband, James Firestone; two daughters, Sharry Fuechsel of Jackson, Wyoming, and Brenda Roberts of Phoenix, Arizona; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey Fuechsel, Nicholas Fuechsel and Tyler Roberts; and two sisters, Charleen Adcock and Shirley Janssen. Services will be held at First United Methodist Church at 1:00pm located at the corner of Durbin and 2nd Street Casper, Wyoming.
