Virginia (Ginny) Faye Jack Harris Palumbo was born on August 20, 1945, to William Cantril Jack and Joyce Davida (Smith). Virginia passed from "Death to Life"on August 19, 2023, blessed to be a " Christian in Complete Armour." She and her three sisters Karen Wyatt, Wilma Kiever, and Margaret Fletcher grew up on a sheep ranch west of Hiland, Wyoming. Virginia had many fond memories of Grandpa and Grandma Smith's store at Hiland called the "Bright Spot." Virginia attended schools in Casper graduating from Natrona County High School in 1963. In 1963 Virginia met and married Ted Harris and began a ranching career with Ted in Wyoming. Over a period of 20 years Virginia and Ted raised three sons Justin, Jason and Paul working on ranches in Wyoming and Nevada. In the early 1980's Virginia and Ted purchased a dairy farm in Cambridge, Idaho and entered the dairy industry. The overwhelming pressure and stress led to a divorce between Virginia and Ted. In 1986 Virginia returned to Casper living with her mother Joyce. Virginia began to study Social Work at Casper College through the University of Wyoming and started a writing career with poems and short stories appearing in the Casper College publication known as "Expression Magazine." In January 1994 after graduating from Casper College, Virginia was introduced to Mike Palumbo a Chemical Engineer at Little America Refinery (Sinclair Casper Refinery). After several years of bible study at Casper Open Bible Church, Virginia and Mike joined a Rest Home Ministry group that conducted services at Casper Mountain Rehabilitation, Life Care, and Garden Square for over 20 years until suspended in March 2020 due Covid 19. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Cantril and Joyce. Virginia is survived by her husband Mike, sisters Karen,Wilma and Margaret, sons Justin, Jason and Paul, and many nieces and nephews and grandchildren. A celebration of life is pending.
