Virginia Belt

Virginia Louise McNare Belt, daughter of Vern L. and Alice (Hiner-Jones) McNare was born in Lusk, Wyoming on September 18, 1927. She passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 91 on March 9, 2019. Virginia learned the value of a hard day's work growing up watching her father working multiple ranches throughout Wyoming and Nebraska. Virginia graduated from Converse County High School in 1945. She graduated from the University of Wyoming in 1949. After graduation, she worked at the Triple A Office in Douglas, now known as the PMA Office, Converse County Bank, Maurer & Garst, Gorsach & Kirby and did bookkeeping for Jack Hampton. While at work at Deister, Ward and Witcher (DWW), she met her husband, Randle Logan Belt, Sr. and they were married June 9, 1950 in Douglas, WY. During their time working for DWW, they worked in numerous states. While in Flora, Illinois, their daughter, Sonya Morgareidge was born. While working in Colorado, they had their daughter, Karma Thompson. In 1956, they moved to Casper; welcoming their daughters Randi Lou Nickel and Kathleen (Leo) Giangiacomo, and their son Randle. They continued working for DWW until September 18, 1962. Logan and Virginia started their own company, Petroleum Title Service, Inc., which she was still operating at the time of her death. Virginia was well known around the entire state for her work and professionalism in the mineral abstracting field. Virginia was blessed with 9 grandchildren, Dawn Marie Marshall (Matt), Jami Warner (Chris), Sean Thompson (Karen), Cherese Gibbons (TJ), John Heisey (Rose), Michael Heisey (Tasha), Anton "TJ" Nickel, and Magdalina Baker (Josh), Nicholas Giangiacomo, 13 Great Grandchildren, 3 brothers, Jim (Garland), Jack (Jo) and Arthur (Dorothy) McNare, and numerous nieces and nephews. Virginia was active in Job's Daughters Bethel #28. She also participated in Daughters of Rebekah, Order of the Eastern Star Fort Casper Chapter #4, and numerous other organizations. She had widow memberships with the Elks Lodge #1353 and Shriners International. She was a life member of the Wyoming Association of Professional Landmen. Virginia was known for her large heart and giving personality. Her door was always open and everyone was welcomed into her home with love and support. Numerous people were graced by her loving touch and sense of caring. Her home was always full of family and friends, as it was the gathering place. The stories her kitchen walls could tell would fill a library. She loved to read about Wyoming and US history and worked diligently on genealogy. She was a strong, independent woman, who helped raise her entire family through all generations to follow in her footsteps with confidence and independence. She is preceded in death by her husband Logan, father Vern, mother Alice, brother Jim, daughter Sonya, sons in law Donald Morgareidge and Mark "Nick" Nickel. Virginia says "Thank You" to all of the doctors, nurses, and all other parties involved with her care the last few years. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 15, 2019 from 4-6 PM at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper. Services will be held at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church, 4600 S Poplar, on Saturday, March 16th at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens. A reception will be held at Yellowstone Garage, 355 W Yellowstone Highway, following the services. Memorials may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice, the Shriner's Children's Hospital, or the charity of the donor's choice, in lieu of flowers. Bustard's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
