Victor Felix Pompa, 68, of Lander, passed away Tuesday March 11, 2014, in Casper, Wyo., following several lengthy illnesses. Victor was born in 1946 to Castulo and Theodora Pompa of Weston, Ohio. After attending school, Victor joined the Marine Corps where he served 4 tours in Vietnam. After moving to Wyoming he worked as a Spanish-English translator. Victor worked at the Wyoming Life Resource Center for 23 years. He married his long time sweetheart Nanette McCarty (Allison) March 19, 2013. Nanette cared for Victor through his long-term illnesses so he could stay in his home. Victor enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting, fishing and camping. His greatest passion was for music. Victor spoke often of being a Marine and was extremely Proud to be a Marine. Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Castulo and Theodora Pompa, and adopted father Trinidad Serrato Senior. He is survived by his wife Nanette Pompa, one son Victor Ignic Pompa, stepdaughter Joanna Cheri Clark, 4 sisters, 7 brothers, 3 or more grand children, 34 nieces and nephews, 84 great nieces and nephews, and 37 great-great nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and arrangements for memorial services are pending.
