Vernon Zurn

Services for Vernon Oscar Zurn will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, January 10, 2011 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Pastor Bob McNamara officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Bustard's Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery, Evansville, Wyoming. Military rites will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Mr. Zurn, 91, of Casper, died January 5, 2011 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper. Vernon was born September 13, 1919 in Antioch, NE to Clarence and Geneva (Regester) Zurn. He graduated from Alliance High School. Vernon served in the Army in WWII and retired from the Army Reserve as a Major. He worked for Burlington Railroad, Standard Oil of Indiana and Job Service of Wyoming. In 1951, Vernon married Edna (Katie) Weisz. He is survived by his wife, daughter, Becky (Roger) Meyer, son, Randy (Debbie), grandsons, Roger and Greg Meyer and Brian and Tim Bishop along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bob, sister, Margaret and grandson, Michael Robert. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 318 East 6th, Casper, Wyoming 82601 or Alzheimer's Society.
