Vernon E. Lee passed away August 25, 2015 at home after battling lung cancer. He was 84 years old. Born in Fort Collins, Colorado, he grew up in the mountains of Fort Collins and on the homestead in Lance Creek, WY. He graduated from High School in Manville, WY and went to work for Marathon Oil Co in Lance Creek. He married Patricia Ann Johnson in 1954. They had two daughters, Becky Ann and Monica Jean. Vernon, or Babe as most called him, always wanted to see the world. To that end, he went to work for Oasis Oil Company in Tripoli, Libya, where he raised his family, taking them all over the world. Planes, river boats, ships and trains, what an education. After getting the children graduated from high school, Babe and Pat lived in Brunei, Borneo and Sanaa', Yemen. His travels didn't stop after retirement. He took that opportunity to see more of the USA, this time in a car. He would pack up his wife, sisters and Custer the Chihuahua to go on all kinds of jaunts. Always willing to stop at any available Cracker Barrel for Pat, and getting a hamburger for Custer. Babe was preceded in death by his parents Charles V. and Elizabeth Lee, daughter Becky Lawson, wife Patricia Ann Lee, grandson Jason Daugherty, brothers Charles (Mary) Lee, George (Sheila) Lee and sister Margaret Lee. He leaves behind a sister, JoAnn (Thomas) Rasmussen, daughter Monica (Roger) Schulte, grandson Brandon (Brandee) Schulte, granddaughters Kelsey (Travis McCann) Schulte, and Taylor (Bailey) Jessee as well as many nieces and nephews. He missed meeting his first great granddaughter by four days! We think Miss Burton Kaye gave him a big high five on the way here! A Celebration of Life will be held at the Veteran's Cemetery Thursday September 3, 2015 at 3:00 PM. Please join the family at the Shriner's Club immediately following to share memories and a light repast. Donations to Central Wyoming Hospice or your community hospice would be appreciated by the family.
