Heaven welcomed Vernon (Vern) Edgar Holybee, 83, of Casper, Wyoming on April 4, 2022. Mr. Holybee entered this world on January 19, 1939 to Susan Elinor White and Eugene Arthur Holybee of Denver, Colorado. Attending school in Denver was interrupted with a relocation to Portland, Oregon. The United States Navy beckoned Vern to enlist and, in 1957, Vern became an active brother to many members of the Navy. Vern’s specialty was in the occupation of electronics. A leave from the completion of military training was granted and during the visitation of family, Vern met his future spouse, Paulette (Paula) McGlothlin. Vern and Paula enjoyed wedded bliss and welcomed sons Mike Holybee of Sacramento, California, Gary Holybee of Sacramento, California, and daughter Julie (Larry) Compston of Casper, Wyoming. The career in the United States Navy concluded with an honorable discharge when Vern retired in September, 1972. Vern is survived by his sister, Arlene Johnson, his two sons, (Mike and Gary Holybee) and daughter (Julie Compston), grandsons Michael, Josh, and Brandon Holybee, granddaughter Chrissy Holybee, Mia (Bil) Wattenberg and great-granddaughter Trillian Wattenberg, Destiny Watson, Korryn Taylor, Alexis Bartucca, great-grandson Braxton Farmer, Tyler Holybee, his nephews John, Sid, and Steve Johnson. Vern is preceded in death by his endearing wife Paula, father Eugene, mother Susan, sister Marie Roberts and grandsons Adam Holybee and Damien Farmer.

Those special memories of you will always bring a smile
If only I could have you back for just a little while
Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do
You always meant so very much and always will do too
The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain
But you’re forever in my heart
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN
Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home , 600 CY Ave. Casper, WY 82601.
