Verla Dean Schufeldt

    Verla Dean Schufeldt, a dedicated homemaker who devoted her life to caring for her family, passed away at the age of 84 in Casper, Wyoming. Born in Comstock, Nebraska, on October 13, 1939, Verla's legacy extended far beyond the walls of her home. She attended schools in Comstock, Nebraska.

    Throughout her life, Verla found joy in simple pleasures like growing flowers and sharing her love with cats and dogs. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support created a warm and loving environment for all who knew her.

    Verla's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly her marriage to the love of her life, Elton Lowell Schufeldt, on April 13, 1957. Together, they raised seven children and built a foundation of love and strength that will endure through generations.

    Verla is survived by her children: Kenneth (Maria A.) Schufeldt, Donna (Jeffrey) Maddox, Cindy LaRussa, Larry Schufeldt, Carol (Luther) Peters, and James Schufeldt. She is also survived by her brother Ray Raylor, 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

    She is preceded in death by her husband Elton, daughter Linda K. Schufeldt, son-in-law, Paul Larussa, daughter-in-law, Maureen Schufeldt, and grandson, Corey LaRussa.

    In the hearts of those who loved her deeply, Verla will forever be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering dedication to family. Her presence will be greatly missed but her memory will live on in the lives she touched.

    Services to honor Verla's life will be held at the Bustard and Jacoby Funeral Home in Casper with a viewing scheduled from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM followed by a Funeral Service from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on March 27, 2024, with interment to follow at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, Wyoming. May she rest in peace knowing she was cherished by many.
