Tommy "Tom" Tuttle

Tom was born April 12, 1947 to Joe and Beatrice (Marie) Tuttle in Gladewater, Texas.  He graduated from White Oak High School in 1965 and attended Kilgore Community College for 2 semesters before joining the U.S. Navy in June of 1967.  He served as a plank owner on the USS Hepburn (MMII) until his honorable discharge in January of 1971.

Tom owned and operated a tower business where he built radio towers that are still in use throughout Texas and Oklahoma today.  During that time, he acquired his love for the oil fields in which he became a well-loved, admired and highly requested directional driller throughout the world.  From Alaska to Singapore, to the North Sea of Scotland, he's seen it all.  He also had interesting stints in Venezuela, Mexico and the jungles of the Congo and eventually returned closer to home with assignments in Colorado, the bitter cold winters of North Dakota, down to Bairoil and Wamsutter and to the mining field of Price, Utah.

He officially retired from the oilfield in August of 2015 and after 3 months of boredom, he went to work part-time at Ace Hardware, in Casper, where he made many more new friends.

On September 14, 1991, in Dubois, WY, he married the love of his life, Sally Hackleman, to whom he was introduced to by his son.

Though Tom was born in Texas, he called Wyoming home.  He loved cheering (or cussing) the Wyoming Cowboys football and basketball teams with pride.  He loved rooting for his favorite NFL team, the Denver Broncos and NASCAR was a favorite until his "boy," Dale Jr. decided to retire.  In the summer, you could find him at their trailer house at Alcova chatting with the neighbors, old friends, new friends or out on the pontoon trying to catch the "big one" with a glass of wine in hand.

Tom will be so very sadly missed by his loving wife Sally, children Shawn Tuttle (Fort Worth, TX), Lindsay Tuttle (Waxahachie, TX), Sean (Jen) Lijewski (Casper, WY),  Adam (Lindsay) Lijewski-Tuttle (Centennial, CO), his grandchildren Madesyn (22), Brooke (16), Morgan (13), Jace (11), Grayson (4), Decker (1) and great grandson, Aiden, born on 1/9/2020.  He is also survived by his sisters, Belynda (Bobby) Martin (White Oak, TX), Donna (Buddy) Coker (Burnett, TX), brother, Dwayne (Renee) Tuttle (Burnett, TX), sister-in-law, Jo Hehr (Riverton, WY) and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, nephew, mother and father-in-law, brother-in-law, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services to be held on Friday, January 31, at 11:00 am at Oregon Trail Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Evansville with a reception at the Bryan Stock Trail V.F.W. from 12:00-2:00 pm.

Since Tom was NOT a suit and tie or sad occasion kind of guy, please join the family in celebrating his life, by wearing your best Wyoming Cowboys or Denver Broncos attire.
