Timothy Dean Smith (69) passed away peacefully early morning hours of December 12, 2024 in Casper, Wyoming. Tim had been recovering from ongoing and challenging medical conditions for the past few years. Tim always tried to be positive and in good spirits with everything that came his way.
Tim was born on January 10, 1955 in Sacramento, CA, third child to C.T. and Jeanne Smith. In Tim’s early years the family moved to Galt, California and graduated from Galt High School in 1973. He then moved back to Sacramento and went to Sacramento City College.
Tim decided to leave California in 1977 and moved to Rawlins, WY with friends. In April of 1978, he came to Alcova Lake with a friend and met the love of his life, Debbie Smith. Tim and Debbie married in June of 1979. They were blessed with two children Travis in 1985 and Kaila in 1991.
Tim went to work for Wyoming Machinery November of 1978 and was employed for 28 years. He did enjoy his job and also cherished all the friendships that came out of those years. After some of his health issues he wanted to go back to work. He worked at Menards for the past 8 years part time and thoroughly enjoyed it. Enjoyed the friendships he made as well.
Tim was an Honorary Elk Member, joined in 1978. The Elks Lodge was very important to him. He went through the Officer Chairs, Chairman for many committees. The love and friendships throughout the years in Elkdom were so special in his heart.
Tim’s favorite place was being at Alcova Lake boating, water skiing and jet-skiing. The memories he had were so special to him with his kids, grandkids, family and friends. His Grandkids were his pride and joy!
Tim is preceded in death by his parents, C.T. and Jeanne Smith, In-Laws, Bob and Betty Cates, Brother, Dallas Smith, maternal and paternal Grandparents, many Aunts and Uncles, and Granddaughter, Savanna Park.
Tim leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Debbie, Son, Travis (Tessi), Daughter, Kaila. Grandchildren, Damian, Rossi, Hollin, Brayden, and Chloe; his sister, Carol Dozier (Jim), nieces, Montana (Mike) Marshall and Bethany (Sean) Henning; Cousins, Kenneth Bernstein, Amy Borghesi, Emma Broyles, and many more.
Celebration of Life will be Friday, January 10, 2025 at the Elks Lodge, 108 E. 7th St., Casper, WY at 4:00 p.m. Reception will be immediately following.
