Tom passed away January 12, 2013 at his home in Bessemer Bend. He was born on November 28, 1930 in Mobile, Alabama, the second of five children Tom served in the U. S. Navy at Subic Bay in the Philippines. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Wolf Creek Stake in Casper. He worked for many years as an appliance service and refrigeration repairman. He was Assistant Chief of Police in Mills and Chief of Police in Edgerton. He attended the Wyoming Police Academy in Douglas. He then moved to Las Vegas where he was Chief Engineer at the Sundance and El Cortez Hotels prior to returning to Casper. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Georgia (Welch) of Casper, sister, Betty Wallace of Rogers, AR, father and mother-in-law George and Bea Welch of Casper, six sons, Ken and Ricky Nelson of Casper, Greg Schreiner of Las Vegas, NV, Bradley and Alan Schreiner of Long Beach, CA and Tommy Lee of Casper. Also surviving are five daughters, Tammy Brooke of Syracuse, UT, Taresa Schreiner of Albany, OR, Karen Crippin and Dori Couch of Las Vegas, Jenny Schreiner of Syracuse, UT, 15 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. A viewing will be held at Bustard's West Chapel (behind the funeral home) on Friday, January 18, 2013 from Noon to 8:00 PM. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the LDS Wolf Creek Stake Center. Interment will be at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville at 1:00 PM, Monday, January 21, 2013. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard.
