Memorial services for Thomas Richard Rankin will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 29, 2014 at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Evansville. Military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Inurnment will be at Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery. Mr. Rankin, 65, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Sheridan, Wyoming. He was born January 14, 1949 in Ellwood City, PA. After high school, Thomas proudly served the country in the United States Air Force. He finished the remainder of his career as a long distance truck driver. His interests included riding horses, driving semis, online poker, hunting and fishing. He was very passionate about politics, and proudly served as Director to the Rocky Mountain Wounded Warriors. He is survived by his sons, Casey Rankin, Cody Rankin (Samantha), both of Casper, granddaughter Emma Rankin of Casper, brother, Jack Rankin (Mel) of Las Vegas, NV. He was preceded in death by his father, Hartzell Rankin and mother, Ruth Rankin. Condolences for the family may be left at bustardsfuneralhome.com.
