Memorial Services for Thomas DeLaine Larimore, 67 will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Pioneer Church at the Natrona County Fairgrounds. Full military honors will be accorded by the Natrona County United Veterans Council and the Wyoming Army National Guard. Tom passed away the evening of October 26, 2010 at home in Casper. He was born in Rock Springs, WY in 1943 to Hugh DeLaine Larimore and Eleanor Longenbaugh. The family moved to Gering, NB, where he excelled and lettered in track, and football. He was a National Thespian, starring in the lead role in the play, Mr. Roberts. He also starred in the play, Night Must Fall, as well as other school plays. He was vice-president of the student body at Gering High School where he graduated with honors in 1961. Following high school, he enlisted in the USAF in July of 1961, and was stationed at Almendorf Alaska until his discharge in 1967. He moved to Cheyenne and was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for forty years. He married Sandra Casteel in Cheyenne in 1971, and to that marriage two sons were born, Thomas and Matthew, and two step-children, James Casteel and Andrew Anderson. The couple divorced in 1983, and remained close friends until his death. He married Pamela Smith in 1990. Three more sons and a daughter came into the marriage; Michael, Patrick, James and Kelly Smith. Tom enjoyed the game show, Jeopardy, gardening, fishing, collecting rocks, NY Times crosswords, and sports. He was a member of the Natrona County Rock Club, American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of Moose. Most of all, Tom was an avid student of life, who read and studied the Great Books of the Western World, among other literature. He often was reading two or three books at a time. However, he was happiest when being surrounded by loving family and friends at his home in Casper. He is survived by his beloved wife, Pamela, and step-children, Michael Smith, Tara, of North Platte, NB, Patrick Smith, Cecilia of Cheyenne, Kelly Smith, Steve of Casper, and James Smith of West Virginia and sons from marriage to Sandra; Thomas D. Larimore, 35 and Matthew R. Larimore, 31, and step-children James E. Casteel, 42 and Andrew R. Anderson 40; three brothers, John Larimore, Bonnie; Michael Larimore, Sheila of Cheyenne, and Rick Larimore of Casper. Also, several grand-children nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor in 1956 and his father, Hugh in 2001. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of their choice.
