THEODORE FOREST TWIFORD (FROSTY)
12/14/29- 09/12/20
WHAT A GREAT DAD WE HAD! Practical joker, guitar player and singer, rodeo bareback bronc rider (with broken bones to prove it) Corporal in the Army, geologist , aspiring writer, Civil Air Patrol volunteer, belonged to many Jesus based Christian groups, husband to our mom Tina Twiford, dad to us; Jenny Hunter (Jim) and Forest I Twiford (Susan), brother to Junior Twiford, son to Russell and Dorothy Twiford , grandfather to Cortney and J.R. Hunter and Amber and Jeremy Twiford, great grandfather and so much more. There was never a dull moment in our house. From having an evening listening to dad strum his guitar and sing (many say he sounded just like Dean Martin, he even cut a vinyl record in California!!) with us eating popcorn, yard chores or rock hunting and finally dad showing us his earthly “finds” under his blacklight; we loved our dad for his gentleness and quiet demeanor, always fair and nonjudgemental, as well as sensitive and devoted. He exuded what we strived to be.
Dad quietly passed after having a grueling year beginning in March 2020 when he broke his left hip, then on to a broken elbow and finally a broken right hip; strokes and other complications seemed to be nonstop since then. With 3 major surgeries in 45 days he persevered and continued to hope for recovery all the while enchanting the nurses and caregivers in Lifecare who loved him to pieces. Pain enveloped his life since that moment in March, as it did ours, as we stood by helpless to comfort him. Hardly seems right that such a gentle soul should endure so much excruciating pain and suffering.
So it is with sadness but much rejoicing with confidence that he now walks with Jesus and dances with our mom.
Please send any donations to J.R.’s Hunt; for life, 2911 Garden Creek, Casper, WY 82601, in honor of his grandson J.R. Hunter who died by suicide and who Dad, at the age of 85, got his first tattoo, a semi-colon, a global sign of suicide awareness and prevention.
