Theodore I Thompson, Jr. 76, died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Shepherd of the Valley Nursing Home after a having cancer for 23 years and Stage 4 COPD. He leaves his wife of 54 years, Derrel (Chernick) Thompson; his sons Theodore L. Thompson and Edward D. Thompson; his daughter Michelle I. Thompson; two grandchildren Destiny Thompson and Aidan Thompson; his brothers Arthur Donnelly and his wife Wilma and Jerome Thompson and his wife Sally; and many nieces, nephews and close friends. Born in Casper Wyoming he was the son of Theodore and Blanche Thompson. He served in the Navy for two years. He was the Club Manager to the Moose and the VFW Post 991. He was always called the "best dressed bartender in town." He belonged to many organizations including the Eagles and was also the Governor to the VFW. He had a passion for children's charities and parachuted out of a plane and rode on a bull to raise money for them. He did Bingo nights for the Casper Police Department. He loved arts & crafts, woodworking, painting and clock making. He was preceded in death by his father Theodore I Thompson, Sr., his mother Blanche (McMahon) Thompson; Brothers James Thompson and Thomas Thompson; and sister Kathryn Thompson. Funeral services will be held at Oregon Trail Cemetery Thursday, August 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Reception will follow at 2102 Sagewood. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Disabled Veterans Fund.
