Theodore "Ted" Lewis Langendorf passed away on September 29, 2017 surrounded by his family in a circle of prayer. He was born to Carl and Ellen Langendorf on August 22, 1935. He grew up in Laramie, WY until he moved to Walden, Colorado with his family in 1947 where his family worked in the timber industry. After attending the University of Wyoming, he then joined the Army on September 9, 1954. After being stationed in Germany as an electrical engineer, he attended Radio Operation school at the 97th Signal Battalion. He was then assigned to division as the commanding general's personal RTO. After serving his time in Germany he returned to the United States where he completed his end of term separation at Fort Sheridan, Illinois. After leaving the service, he worked as a heavy equipment operator building highway near Idaho Springs, CO where he met his future wife, Sara Jane"Sally" Staner. They were married 58 years ago on September 25, 1959 and lived the early years of their marriage in Walden, Colorado where he owned and operated a sawmill. He moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1978 where he worked his way up to the title of General Manager for Petro Chem, Inc. He loved the Lord and he loved his family. He enjoyed researching his family history, boating, yard work, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His two best buddies were his dogs, Charlee and Bengee. He is survived by his wife, Sally, of Casper, Wyoming; daughters, Debbie (Randy) Zurn, of Casper, Wyoming and Liz (Scott) Hartman, of Berthoud, Colorado; son, Steve (Sammi) Langendorf, of Pringle, SD; grandchildren, Brian Bishop, Timothy (Tami) Bishop, Sara (Hector) Ibarra, Thomas Hartman, Peiter Hartman; great grandchildren, Gavin Bishop, Kasen Ibarra, and Ayla Ibarra; sisters, Pat Langendorf, Virginia Lees, Edie (Bill) Einspahr; sister-in-laws, Jerre Rae and Judy Chain; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Ellen Langendorf; and his grandson, Michael Robert Zurn. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery on October 13, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ted's name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Raider Project for Wounded Veterans.
