Thelma Roberson

December 11, 1929 — August 19, 2020

Thelma Bernice Roberson died on Wednesday, August 19 at the Wyoming Medical Center in Casper, WY.  She was born to Clayton Long and Annie Francis Maude Collins Long into a large family on December 11, 1929.  She lived with her family on the Little Wind below Ethete, WY then moved in to Shoshoni, WY where she attended school and graduated from Shoshoni High School.  Later in life, she attended Casper College from which she also graduated.

She was married to Perry Dale Roberson.  To this marriage were born a son, Perry and four daughters; Katherine, Marilyn, Colleen and Yvonne.  They lived for many years in Casper, WY in a house that they built together in the Mountain View area.  Later, Thelma moved to Riverton to be close to family and lived the remainder of her life there.  She was loved greatly by her family and friends, appreciated for her love, kindness, compassion, generosity, devotion and concern for each of them.  She was a very hard worker.  She could stretch a penny into a dollar.  And, as many will confirm, she was a great cook!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, her parents, her brothers; A. C. (Sonny), Raymond, Reno, Eugene, Frederick, Leon and John; and her sisters Edna, Louise and Marjorie (Margie).

Surviving her are her children and their families.  Perry Roberson and Mary of Riverton, WY (Cameron, Kendall and Rachel (Alliana, Aletheia).  Katherine Boyles and Alan of Sheridan, WY (Sheryl (Daniel, Katelyn (Kah'lyn), Joshua and Eliana).  Melissa Martin and David (Lucas, Maya and Logan).  Marilyn Fry and Jim of Rapid City, SD (Melody Moore and Seth (Malachi), Michael Culbertson and Porshca (Mira, Emily).  Jonathon Culberson and Mirjam (Wesley, Wiley), and Kevin Culbertson.)  Colleen Hickman and Dan of Seattle, WY (Scott Hickman and Brittany (Aidan, Ariadne), Christopher Hickman (Anneliese).  Yvonne Koklauner and Philip of Cleveland, OH (Michelle, Brennen).

Also surviving are her brothers Clayton (Buzz) Long Jr. and LeRoy (Tiny) Long, along with many cousin, nephews, nieces and friends who loved and appreciated Thelma.  She loved them all.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and will be announced, also at a later time.  Bustards Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
