Thelma Holmes

James E. Holmes, age 85, was born August 11, 1925. He died at his home on June 7, 2011. Thelma I. Holmes, age 76, was born February 17, 1935. She died at her home on June 9, 2011. James was born in Strang, Nebraska. Thelma was born in Morton, Wyoming. They were married September 19, 1952 in Custer, So. Dakota. James worked for the City of Casper until he retired in 1987 and continued working as summer help for several years. Thelma was a homemaker and was involved with the School for the Deaf until it closed. They were foster parents for several years. They enjoyed gardening, fishing and family. They lived a long and happy life. They were preceded in death by their parents, a granddaughter, a great granddaughter and several sisters and brothers. James and Thelma are survived by son Gerald (Sharon) Holmes of Orville, CA, daughter, Kathleen Holes and Frank Lala of Savannah, Georgia, son, Bert Quale of Mesa, AZ, Donald (Jennifer) Holmes of Phoenix, AZ, Douglas (April) Holmes of Evansville, WY, 14 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at 9:00 AM, Friday, June 24, 2011 at Bustard's Funeral Home with Fr. Tom Johnson of Anglican Church of the Resurrection officiating. Inurnment will take place at 3:00 PM, Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Riverton, Wyoming.
