Terry "Mickey" Schoenewald Terry Michael Schoenewalad, known by all as Mickey, passed away in his home on Saturday, September 21, 2019. Mickey was born August 2nd, 1949, in Casper, Wyoming to Thomas "Tommy" and Shirley Jean Schoenewald. He became Danny's little brother passing on that title when his brother TJ was born. His inquisitive nature and absorbent mind was cultivated at St. Anthony's gathering knowledge and abilities that continued to expand after graduation from NCHS in 1967. He gathered awards as a gymnast, diver, artist, bowler, dirtbiker and Wyoming State Miniature Golf Champion. His first love was his green Dodge Charger; his second arrived soon after when Pam Conkle moved to Casper. They were married in 1970 while he served in the National Guard. Their daughter, Erica, arrived three years later followed by their son, Tyler, after four more. They remained family after divorcing in 1980. Mickey worked at Texaco refinery transitioning to Dave Johnston power plant for 25 years. He rarely rested on weekends preferring to spend time painting, playing softball, skiing the slopes, vacationing in the mountains or next to the water. He retired early with a new passion for playing golf twice a week whether he was at in Casper or traveling. He chose wood as his medium to create art during the winter that can be seen in local walking sticks, larger pieces in yards, and scattered around Alcova Lake, his sanctuary every summer weekend of his adult life. Twenty five years ago along with his partner and best friend, Cathy Skilbred, he acquired the trailer space to become a fixture within the lake community. It was there along the beach, around the firepit, at barbeques and on his deck where his free-spirit, playful personality and outgoing conversations created a trail of memories for friends, family and strangers who crossed his path. He loved roadtrips, often traveling to join Tyler, exploring art exhibits, museums, local landscapes, pubs and restaurants. He would challenge Erica in various debates or a round of Trivial Pursuit, but much of their time together was shared with his grandchildren: Ian, Jacobie and Clara Fullerton. He fed their individual interests and personalities by working on projects, taking them on excursions, finding resources when they were curious, He was proud to facilitate their independence by hearing and understanding each one of them. His family included: Tyler's wife Vanessa who carries his grandson expected in March, Cathy's sons Drew and Matt, (his wife Cristy and their children: Cole, Carlee,Hailey and Mason), His brother TJ's wife Lea and their son Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Danny.
