Terry Vines

September 2, 1949 — May 10, 2019

Terry Wayne Vines passed away peacefully on May 10, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones. This was after a courageous fight that his body could no longer win. Terry was born to William and Maril (Campbell) Vines in Elizabethton, TN on September 2,1949. He spent most of his childhood in Kankakee, IL with his beloved grandparents and his two aunts. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air force and was sent to serve in the Vietnam War. After this tour in the war he was then stationed in Thailand, Germany and Colorado. While stationed at Ft. Lowry Air Force Base, in Colorado, he met the love of his love life, Linda Windholz. They were married and started their family making Denver Colorado their home, where they were blessed with five children. After raising their three oldest children to adulthood, Terry moved his wife and two youngest children to Casper, WY in the early 1990's. He started his career with the City of Casper in the waste-water treatment plant where he retired after 18 years. During retirement he became a fulltime papa which was his calling. He never missed a beat and was there for all graduations, birthdays and family get togethers. His next mission takes him to a wonderful place where he will be reading to his heart's content, eating all the food he was told not to and never gain a pound, watching unlimited football games on tv, and blaring his oldies in all his dream cars. He will continue his family reunions with his grandparents, aunts, cousins, all his loving in laws, and he will finally get to rock his great granddaughter. He will get to play with his hound dogs that went over rainbow bridge. His calm composure made him the loveable man everyone adored. He was a very intelligent man who always had a calculator nearby incase he thought of something and needed to run the numbers. He loved his books, the library, and his music. He loved to take drives, loved all cars new and old and had a wealth of knowledge when it came to automobiles. Terry is survived by his loving wife Linda of 45 years. His two sons James (Stephany) Vines of Commerce City Colorado and William (Charlotte) Vines of Arvada Colorado, and his three daughters Tammy (Jason) Stoops, Chandra (Eric) Montgomery, and Amanda (Julian) Vines all of Casper, Wyoming. Terry is also survived by many grandchildren; Tori (Dan) Vines of McKinney Texas and James (Mia) Vines Jr. of Destin Florida, Alex (Paula) Stoops, Olivia (Rebecca) Frias, Hannah (Andy) Barrett, Jessica, Stylze, Tyanna, Tyarra Montgomery, Shelby and Quentin Lopez all of Casper Wyoming. Terry also has four great grandchildren; Benjamin and Amelia Barrett of Casper Wyoming and Kenneth Jase and Audrey Grace Loehr of McKinney Texas. He was proceeded in death by his parents, grandparents, his beloved Aunt Barb and Aunt Jean, his Brother Michael, and his great granddaughter Oaklee Jo Barrett. A Celebration of life will be held at Bustards Funeral Home May 17,2019 at 1:00 pm. Reception to follow at Sherries Place downtown. Cremation has taken place and per his wishes will be buried at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Colorado at a time to be determined later. He would not want anyone to be sad at this time and we would like you to wear green his favorite color. In lieu of flowers please make donation to the basset Hound Rescue a nonprofit that was very dear to him. We would like to thank the WMC ER department for always giving him the best care. A thank you to all his nurses over the last nine months that he has had on all the floors. To the ICU nurses who made his last moments comfortable, we are so appreciative of you! To the countless Doctors that treated him; Dr. Novick, Dr. Monfre, Dr. Munoz, Dr. Bowe and Dr. Cotant, we thank you for giving us the extra time to spend with him. As my dad would always say and said in his last hours "It is what it is"!
