Terry Prather

Terry Gene Prather Casper, Wyoming/ May 5, 1931-August 18, 2018 On May 5, 1931 a man was born into this world that was destined to change lives, for the good, of so many. On August 18, 2018 that same man was called home by God to now watch over us as a guardian angel. Terry Gene Prather passed away on Saturday, in Casper, Wyoming at WMC. He married Helen Sagely in Osceola, Arkansas on November 23, 1949 and was a loving and devoted husband and father until the day of his passing. He worked hard his entire life to ensure that his family was always provided for and all the while, never letting them forget just how much he loved them and how proud of them he was. He worked in the oilfield industry for most of his life and as an owner/operator until his retirement in 2015. He never met a stranger that did not become a friend - he never passed by someone who was in need of help - he never wanted recognition for good deeds or kind gestures - he always treated people with respect and courtesy - he was fair, honest, kind, funny, tough when necessary and when it counted - and he was always a gentleman. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Helen Prather; 4 children and their spouses, Sue Pope (Dave) of Kyle, TX; Mike Prather (Wendy) of Glenrock, WY; Jerry Prather (Karen) of Casper, WY; Jody Sagely of Rancho Gordova, CA; and brother, Royce Kellick of Casper, WY. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; and numerous friends he called family... One in particular, his nearest and dearest, Frank Montgomery. Terry was preceded in death by two children both of Ventura, CA: Terry Gordon Prather and Kay Rodriguez. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Casper Humane Society. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 5 to 7 PM at Bustard's Funeral Home in Casper, Wyoming. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Highland Park Community Church in Casper with Pastor Joseph Pomroy officiating.
