On Tuesday, June 12th, 2018, Terry Ray Melvin passed away peacefully in the place that brought him the most joy and comfort, his home. From his birth in 1955, to his death on Tuesday, Terry touched the lives of countless people. A true Wyoming cowboy at heart, the great outdoors was at the cornerstone of his life. He never turned down a fishing trip, an opportunity to venture into the wilderness, or share a good story over a bonfire about one of his many adventures. A kind man with a tender heart and a reputation for his willingness to always lend a helping hand, Terry made friends with strangers in a matter of minutes. Always wearing his signature warm smile, he loved life and lived it to the fullest. Industrious and purpose-driven, Terry's work as a Welder brought him great joy and took him to many places around the country but there was never any place quite like home where he lived among rabbits, deer, and his beloved magpies. A lover of music, you could always find him at his home in the evening watching sunsets listening to a wide array of tunes. Terry nourished the people in his life with positive energy, encouragement, and humor. He was always happy and possessed a magnetic energy that people were immediately attracted to. Terry will be missed by many but lives on in the infinite beauty that is Wyoming. Please continue to honor his life by always greeting a stranger with a smile and taking time to love and care for one another. Terry is survived by his proud daughter Raychel Duncan and his son-in-law Dean Duncan of Denver, his former wife Debby Melvin of Casper, and his three sisters April, Janet, and Peggy along with many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. More details to be forthcoming.
