Terry Eugene Armstrong, 77, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2024. Born on January 7, 1947, in Detroit, Michigan, Terry lived a full and vibrant life, marked by deep passions and a steadfast commitment to those he loved.
Terry was a man of principle, a strong supporter of the Second Amendment, and an advocate for the rights of responsible gun owners. His love for animals, especially cats, was a defining feature of his character. Terry's home was always open to a furry friend in need, and his compassion extended to people as well; he was known for his willingness to help anyone who needed it. His generosity of spirit was felt by all who knew him, and his loyalty to his friends was unwavering.
Professionally, Terry had a diverse and accomplished career. He attended Kent State University, then later earned Certificate in Computer Programming from ITT Tech, he worked as a large equipment operator for Halliburton and Getty Oil. He transitioned into the tech industry, where he applied his skills as a computer programmer for Nixdorf Computers. His dedication and expertise led him to Automation Electronics, where he advanced to the role of Supervisor of Technical Services.
Outside of work, Terry had a variety of hobbies and interests. An avid reader, he could often be found with a book in hand, exploring new worlds and ideas. He was also a certified Range Safety Officer, a role that allowed him to combine his passion for firearms with his commitment to safety and education.
Terry was a loving partner to Margaret A. Haller and father to Leila I. Armstrong and Evan A. Armstrong. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Skyleigh Armstrong, Sophia Bren, Libby Bren, Sophie Armstrong and Hagan Armstrong. He was predeceased by his daughter, Erica J. Bren, whose memory he held close to his heart.
A memorial service to celebrate Terry's life will be held on September 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Wellspring Church in Casper, Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Humane Society, a cause that Terry passionately supported.
Arrangements are under the care of Bustard & Jacoby Funeral Home.
Terry will be remembered for his unwavering values, his love for animals, his dedication to his friends and family, and his many contributions to his community. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
