A memorial service for Teddie Kathleen Amber will be held 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Lynn Williamson, officiating. Teddie passed away peacefully on March 22, 2013. Teddie was born on August 17, 1944, to Ted and Kay Ambler in San Diego, CA, where they were working during WWII. The family moved back to Denver in 1946 and then moved to Casper in 1953. Teddie attended Willard Elementary School, East Junior High School, and graduated from Natrona County High School in 1962. Teddie was a wonderful and passionate person in all that she did. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. She also enjoyed her work serving as a crossing guard for several schools in the Casper area. You could always find Teddie volunteering in the community including watering plants at Hospice and in most recent years as a Senior Companion. She enjoyed assisting with the coffee hour at Skyline Towers where she had many friends. Teddie had an unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. One of her greatest passions and dedications in her life was to her church family at Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church. You could always find her at church on Sunday mornings, at Bible study and working in the kitchen whenever needed. She was faithful in preparing coffee every Saturday so it was ready for the Sunday morning service. Her favorite weekly responsibility was being a table parent to the children at Logos and Pathfinders at Shepherd of the Hills Church up until the last few weeks of her life. Among other interests, Teddie loved square dancing, cats and collecting stuffed Teddy Bears. She was a great supporter and cheerleader for her three nieces in all that they did. Teddie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Kay and Ted Ambler; also by her grandparents and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was blessed to have relatives in Denver and California where they all would gather for many family reunions. Teddie is survived by her sister, Melanie (Tom) Dowler of Casper; 3 nieces, Gretchen (Brian) Astone of Littleton, CO, Erin (Pete) Kilbride, Dayton, WY, and Amanda Dowler of Casper; 3 grandnephews, Camden, Caleb, Andrew and 1 grandniece, Sophie. She is also survived by aunts, June Davis and Joyce Buzick, of Denver, Nita Ambler and Ruth Ambler, of San Diego, CA. She had 17 surviving cousins and their families. Memorials may be given to Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian Church.
