Tammera Romero

d. October 22, 2010

Our beloved Tammera "Tammy" Sue Romero returned to live with our Father in Heaven on October 22, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Tammy was born November 22, 1961 in Gainesville, Florida, to Russell Lee Donley III and Karen Kocherhans of Casper. She married David Romero, on March 15, 1992. They have one son Paul and one grandson Nikolai. Tammy grew up in Casper, Wyoming where she attended Pineview Elementary, East Jr. High, and graduated from Kelly Walsh High school in 1980. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Wyoming and her Law Degree from Brigham Young University. Tammy was a dedicated and faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in various callings including: Seminary Teacher, Primary President, Relief Society President, Young Women's Leader, Cub Scout Leader and Sunday school teacher. She loved serving others as she served her Father in Heaven. Tammy was an inspiration to those who knew her and touched many hearts. Her greatest love was her husband, son, and grandson. She loved spending time with family and seldom missed a special event of her son, nieces, or nephews. She loved the annual family backpack trip, working in her flower beds and sitting on her deck listening to the waterfall. Tammy was a fighter and worked tirelessly for a quality education for her son. She was instrumental in the establishment of Fort Caspar Academy and served on the governing council as vice chairman and chairman. She was a driving force behind the implementation of Casper Classical Academy and some of the curriculum used in these schools. Tammy will be remembered for her total love and devotion to her family and friends, for her good natured personality and for her strong will and determination. Tammy is survived by her husband David Michael Romero, son Paul Anthony Romero, grandson Nikolai Anthony Romero, and her parents Russ and Karen Donley (all of Casper), her twin sister Tonya (Karl) Bertagnole of Wright, Wyoming, and younger sister Chris (Dahl) Simpson of Afton, Wyoming. She is preceded in death by her husband Stephen Luis Romero and two nephews, Steven and Kevin Bertagnole. In lieu of flowers, donations to Tammy Romero memorial fund at Central Wyoming Hospice would be greatly appreciated. (319 South Wilson, Casper, WY 82601) Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Wolf Creek LDS Church. Viewing will be at the Relief Society Room of the Church from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery.
