Sylvester Saunders Jr is survived by His sons Sylvester III Saunders,Marcus Saunders, Michael Saunders, Step Children Jackie Spencer, Stacy Joseph, Sean Mapp, grandchildren Sylvester IV, Syrina, Elonie, Geoffrey, Angel, Keyvone, Mikayla, Kahlil, Marcus’s four children, Shantel, Desirea, Olivia, and Mariah, as well as Great Grandchildren.
He was proceeded in death by his Grandmother Mae, Sister Brenda Collins, Patricia Clapp, and Valen Iron Rope.
Sylvester was born on July 8th, 1951 in Seattle Washington and raised by his Grandmother Mae.
Sylvester worked at the Wyoming Medical Center as a janitor for 8 years, then he worked at Shepherd Of Valley for 12 years (2007 - 2019) He retired from Shepherd Of Valley. He loved working and loved everyone he worked with, but Covid came and he decided to retire.
Sylvester fell in love with Patricia Clapp and they were together for 20 years. They enjoyed gambling, going thrift shopping, and enjoying life. Sylvester’s favorite was watching football as he loved his Carolina Panthers. He once told his granddaughter, Olivia that you just pick a team and you stick with it no matter what. He loved being outdoors and fishing all the time. Sylvester had a contagious laugh. He was a really good man.
Sylvester Jr. found out 8/19/22 that he had Colon and Liver Cancer. He did all the treatments and believed he won the fight of cancer. Unfortunately 7/2/24 he found out the Liver Cancer came back and spread to his Shoulder and chest bone. 8/8/2024he was put into hospice but had a beautiful fun birthday party. Sadly 7/17/24 he had a GI bleed and went home to Heaven to be with everyone.
A celebration of Sylvester's life will be held later this year.
