Susan Ellsbury

October 26, 1946 — November 5, 2018

Our mother, wife, sister, and grandmother, Sue Ellsbury took the lords hand on November 5, 2018 and her body became strong again so she could walk in heaven and fill the gardens (and grocery stores) with her infectious laugh. Oh the murals she will be able to paint in heaven! Susan Evelyn Allard was born on October 26th, 1946 in Belfry Montana to Peter and Sylvista (Silvia) Allard. Her father passed away in 1961 leaving her mother to carry the burden of raising 7 children. Although her family did not have much, she was determined not to let it slow her down and tried to live life to the fullest while trying to help her mother raise her younger siblings. In high school she was a cheerleader for the Belfry Bats and in the summers worked in the fields hoeing beans. She graduated from Belfry High School in 1964 and moved to Cody Wyoming where she met her first husband Martin Anderson and together they had one child, Lisa Anderson. Tragically, Martin died young and she was left to raise her daughter without him. She worked at the Cody Drug as well as the Cody Bank as a teller to make ends meet. While out one night, she met her second husband, Jack Ellsbury, who was in town on leave from the Navy. They were married on April 25th, 1970 and this is where the next chapter of her life began. Mom, Dad and Lisa packed up and moved to Imperial Beach California to be near the Naval Base where he was stationed. Mom and Lisa eventually moved back to Wyoming while Dad was stationed overseas and then when Dad was discharged from the Navy they moved to Casper Wyoming. Together they welcomed four more children into the world, Nicole, Sean, Jackie and Deborah. They lived in Casper and Sheridan, Wyoming before eventually settling down in Glenrock Wyoming. Summers were spent Camping, boating, fishing and road trips and winters were spent ice skating and sledding. Mom always made sure we brought a big pot of Chili and plenty of Hot Cocoa (and maybe a few adult beverages). Mom was always busy sewing something, making costumes, cheering us on at sporting events or putting her artistic touches on the house. She may not have been the worlds' best seamstress but we thought our homemade pajamas were the best! Her charisma could light up a room. She may have only been 4'11" but you always knew where she was just by looking for the hair (that was never out of place) and listening for her laugh because there wasn't anyone who escaped from her teasing and crazy antics. The lord didn't know what he was in for when he picked you to go to heaven, give em' hell mom! We will always hold all of the dear memories close to our hearts and use those memories to help us make it through the tough days we all we want is to hear your voice one more time or to feel your arms around us telling us it will all be ok. Your wings were ready but our hearts were not but we know you will be there to greet us with a big kiss on the cheek when our time comes. Mom was preceded in death by her Parents, Peter and Sylvia (Rebecca); siblings Valentine, Bill, Betty, Virginia, Frannie, Doug, Leona and Esther; her first husband Martin; Mother and Father-in-law Mary and Lyman Ellsbury; sister-in-law Diane; Nephew Shane and Niece Penny. She is survived by her Husband of 48 years, Jack of Glenrock Wyoming; Children Lisa (Dave) Picard, Nikki (Allen) White, Sean Ellsbury, Jackie Ellsbury, and Debbie Ellsbury; Grandchildren Jamie, Ashlea, Chase and Brayden. She is also survived by her Siblings Ruth, Hazel, Elaine, Jack, Patty and Robert as well as many nieces and nephews and brother and sister-in-laws. A viewing will be held at Bustards Funeral Home on November 12th from 5 to 8pm. Service will be November 13th at the St Louis Catholic Church in Glenrock at 11 am with reception to follow. A private family burial will follow the reception at the Casper Veteran's Cemetery.
