Steven Ray (Steve or Drink) Drinkwalter, 61, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away on July 16, 2024 in Wray, Colorado. Steve was born in Valentine, Nebraska to George and Isla Drinkwalter on May 31, 1963. He attended high school at Cody Kilgore High School and graduated in 1981. He went on to get an Associates Degree in Agriculture Economics at Casper Community College, which he attended through a rodeo scholarship.
He had 3 children. Loren, Justin, and Taryn who were his whole world. He loved hunting, fishing, riding side by sides and snowmobiles or really anything you could do in the mountains. He also loved grilling and reading books, especially books by Louis L’Amour, his favorite author. Another of his favorite activities was watching football with his sons while drinking an ice cold Coors Light and camping with his daughter Taryn. He also loved his dog, Jessie who was truly one of his best friends. Steve was a hard worker by nature and always stuck to the motto of, “If you want something done right, do it yourself.” He worked for NOV for 34 years, traveling all over the country. He enjoyed his job and over the years he was the go to guy. He was a family man and he loved spending all the time he could manage with his three older brothers Darrell, Keith and Randy. He also managed to stay close with his lifelong friends Todd and Kirk. If the term “An honest man” was a person it would be Steve. He always stuck to his morals and did what he knew was right. He was kind, caring, funny and even a little ornery at times. He was the best dad, brother or friend you could ask for.
Steve was preceded in death by: his parents, George and Isla Drinkwalter, his dog Roper and his Great Niece: Mckenzie. Steve is survived by his sons: Loren (son Jaxson) of Casper Wy, Justin (son Zeppelin) of Casper Wy, his daughter, Taryn of Casper Wy, his brothers, Darrell (Donna) of Casper Wy, Keith (Linda) of Sundance WY, Randy of Bridgeport, NE.
