Steve Bishop, 63, peacefully passed away on May 25, at his home in Casper, after a hard fought battle with cancer, he was surrounded by family. He was born July 1, 1953 in Greeley, Colorado to R.C. ‘Doc' Bishop and Gerrie Bishop. Steve was employed at DXP Enterprises in Casper, Wyoming for 20 years. As Steve would say, "I had a great run!" There was not a sport he didn't enjoy and he excelled at them all; basketball, rodeo, pool, and most of all golf. He became an avid golfer and traveled throughout the state and country to pursue his passion. He was a member of the Wyoming State Golf Association. Steve is survived by his wife of 31 years, Shanann; daughter Callie (boyfriend, Bart Cubrich) of Laramie, beloved pet Yorkie, Indy; mother Gerrie of Cheyenne, brothers Mark of Fort Collins, Jeff (Debbie) of Casper, Todd (Jan) of Burns and 19 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, R.C. ‘Doc' Bishop. A Memorial Service celebrating his love for golf and zest for life will be held at the Casper Municipal Golf Course, 2120 Allendale Blvd. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, 2-4 p.m. Donations may be made to Casper Junior Golf Program (Casper Municipal Golf Course) in Steve's memory.
