Stephanie Jean Myles, 71, passed away December 17, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer at home with her family by her side. Stephanie, affectionately known as Tuffi by her family, was born September 8, 1943, in Joplin, Missouri to Wilma and Gene Smith. When her mother divorced and remarried Wally Holmes, Stephanie proudly took his last name and became Stephanie Holmes. Stephanie grew up in Wyandotte, Oklahoma and was active in school activities, such as cheerleading, FHA, drama club and was the Basketball Queen in 1961. She graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1961 and enrolled in Joplin Business College. Upon graduation Stephanie married Ronald Van Winkle in 1963 and moved to Anderson, Missouri. There she worked as an administrative assistant for H&H Manufacturing Company. Stephanie and Ron were divorced and in time she met and married James Jones. They resided in Sand Springs, Oklahoma after they were married and then moved to Memphis, Tennessee, Jackson Mississippi, Mobile, Alabama, Phoenix, Arizona and finally back to Tulsa, Oklahoma. In 1985, following the divorce from James, Stephanie met her best friend and greatest love, John Myles. On August 3, 1985 they were married and had 29 wonderful years together. During this marriage, they lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Kingwood, Texas before moving to Casper, Wyoming to be nearer to family in October of 2014. She was employed as an administrative assistant at Amerada Hess and Springer Clinic. In Kingwood she and her husband were active in the adult Sunday school class at First United Methodist Church. Stephanie was an avid bird lover, with cardinals being her favorite. She also enjoyed making Christmas ornaments, spending time with friends, working in her yard, traveling with her husband, Sunday school and church, watching college football and the NFL, and especially spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, Lawrence John Myles of Casper, daughter, Mendi Jones of Roeland Park, Kansas, son, Joe (Angela) Jones of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter, Melissa (Roger) Huschka of Casper, daughter, Jessica Schulz of Lafayette, Colorado, daughter Paulette (Kurt) Newman of Denton, Texas, sister Paula (Allen) Shirley of Joplin, Missouri, sister Sandy (Al) Collins of North Ellenton, Florida, niece Rachel Shirley of Roeland Park Kansas, grandchildren, Justin Senchak of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Devon, (Chloe) Huschke and Shane Huschka, Sabrina Newman, Alyssa Newman and Sebastian Newman, Clayton Jones, Kristin Jones, Matthew Jones and Joshua Jones and great grandchildren Ava Huschka and Keli Huschka. She was preceded in death by her parents Gene Smith, Wally and Wilma Holms and brother Greg Smith. Memorial services will be held at Bustard's Funeral Home at 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 20, 2014 with Chaplain Whalen Woodward officiating.
