Stanley Hess 65, passed away Sunday in Casper, Wy after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Stanley was born on June 17, 1954 in Viborg, South Dakota to Byron and Jean Hess. Stanley met his wife Karen at the Sage Club in 1978. They were then married one year later on May 5, 1979 in Evansville, Wy. Stanley loved helping others whether it was working on vehicles or tractors and equipment. Stanley joined the Pony Express in 1983. He looked forward to being able to ride in this every year. This was an annual family event for the whole family. Stanley loved the outdoors from trail riding to camping and hunting. Stanley became a member of the Silver Spruce. His weekend consisted of gambling, shooting guns, fishing and drinking. Stanley looked forward to this every year. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He and Karen took in numerous foster kids throughout the years. Stanley and Karen had 8 kids. Leeray Green (Cynthia) of Tennessee, Landon Green (Deanna) of Casper, Savannah Hess of Colorado, Kody Hess, Michael Hess (Tiffany) of Gillette, Stacy Hess of Casper, Jack Hess (Allie) of Colorado. Stanley and Karen have 11 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife Karen, brothers James (Paula) of Casper, Rodney Hess of Casper, Craig Hess of Casper, Doran Hess (Mitzi) of Casper, and two sisters Bonnie Smith (Casper) of Douglas and Faye Gatlin of Texas. He is proceeded in death by his parents Byron and Gene Hess and his son Leeroy Stacy Green.
