Sophia Viola "Vi" Endes Kranenberg passed away November 8, 2016 after an eight year battle with cancer. She was born in Murdo, SD on September 7, 1938 to John and Sophia Smith Endes. She grew up in a small farming community in rural SD. Her teaching career took her to rural SD, MN, NE, and the Department of Defense overseas schools in the Philippine Islands and Germany. Her last years were in Casper where she met her husband, Clyde. She taught 32 years in the Natrona County School District. She just loved teaching - loved her students and coworkers. She had many endearing encounters with former students in the community. In recent years many of her former students who had gone into the medical profession were her caretakers. Her retirement years included volunteering at the Fort Caspar Museum Association, Caps for Kids, Meals on Wheels, and as a literacy volunteer. She enjoyed spending time with former teachers and volunteer friends. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Clyde; her brothers, John, Ernie, and Tom; sisters, Marie and June; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Edith. Private family services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the Casper Humane Society or your favorite charity.
