Shirley Ward

Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Ray Bauder Ward, 80, of Casper, WY will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday December 11, 2015 at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, WY with Pastor Cedar of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Bustard's Funeral Home from 5:00pm - 7:00 and on Friday morning from 8:00am-9:00 also at the funeral home. She passed away December 7, 2015 in Casper, WY. Shirley was born August 8, 1935 in Hastings, NE to Margeret K. Hibbler and Lawrence M. Bauder. In 1970 she married her soul mate, James Wendell Ward. Together they raised eight children. Shirley earned her Mater of Education Degree from NNU in Nampa, ID and dedicated herself to her elementary education career. The only thing Shirley put before teaching was the Lord and her family. She was an adoring wife, super mom and grandmother, and was a lifelong member of First Church of the Nazarene. In what little spare time she had she enjoyed rock collecting and researching genealogy. Shirley will be greatly missed by her husband James Ward of Casper, WY; her children, Jimmy Leroy Ward of Greeley, CO, Larry Ward of Kuna, ID, Ronald Ward and Robert Ward of Rapid City, SD, Russell Ward of Columbus, GA, and Kenneth Ward of Sioux Falls, SD; her sister Jennie L. Palmer of Vicksburg, MS; and brother Laurence Bauder of Sutton, NE; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She will be greeted in heaven by her parents; sister Laureen Papenhagen; and her son Calvin Ray Ward.
