Shirley Szewczyk

Shirley Joan Szewczyk (formerly of New Chicago, Indiana), 80, passed away in Casper, Wyoming, surrounded by her loving family on 10/23/2011. Born and raised in Gary, Indiana, Shirley graduated from Lew Wallace High School. She was married to Bruno Szewczyk for 50 years. Shirley earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from Indiana University Northwest. She taught English for 20 years at West Side High School. Shirley is survived by 3 children: Linda (Richard) Solberg, Billings, Montana; Steve (Karen) Szewczyk, Casper, Wyoming; Carol (Hugh) Redditt, Coatesville Pennsylvania; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Shirley had a beautiful smile and a quick wit. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, cross stitching and lively pinochle games. She was an avid cook who created many memorable meals. Interment at Arlington National Cemetery at 9:00 AM on 11/16/2011. In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory will be accepted at Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S.
