SHIRLEY MAE PHILLIPS Casper, Wyoming November 26, 1921-January 1, 2016 Shirley Mae Phillips was born Nov. 26, 1921 in Duluth, Minnesota to Heinrich "Henry" Bahm and Reita Fern (Seitz) Bahm. She passed away Friday, January 1, 2015 at Central Wyoming Hospice in Casper at the age of 94. She was raised in Mandan, North Dakota until the death of her mother in 1935, when she moved to Thermopolis to live with her aunt and uncle, Ray and Lula Seitz. She graduated high school in Thermopolis in 1939. In 2014, she was one of two classmates who attended her 75th school reunion. On July 20, 1942 she married Daniel Andrew Robinson, Jr. in Thermopolis. They had four children. After Dan's service in World War II, they lived in Thermopolis, working in the dry cleaning business. In 1952 they moved to Spokane, Washington owning and operating Veradale Cleaners. They moved to Riverton, Wyoming in 1957 where they owned and operated the Paris Cleaners. Shirley made sure her kids went to school with creases neatly pressed into their jeans. She and Dan divorced in 1963 and she moved to Casper where she worked in various dry cleaning establishments, including Service Cleaners, Wardrobe Cleaners, Westridge Village Cleaners, Rainbow Cleaners, and Mountain View Cleaners. She retired in 1983. Her customers appreciated the great care she took with their clothes, and her friendly and cheerful service. Shirley and Tom Phillips met at the Beacon Club in Mills in 1963, the beginning of their 46-year relationship. Together they raised Tom's two young sons. They were married in Jackson on July 25, 1975. They enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards with friends and family, and spending time at their cabin on Dinwoody Lake. Shirley was a great hostess. Nothing pleased her more than gatherings with family and friends. She lived in the Mountain View Addition for 45 years. In 2011, she made her home with her son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Ann Robinson, where she happily remained until a few days before her passing. Shirley was famous for her wonderful fudge, divinity, and pumpkin bread and her beautiful crocheted creations. She had the ability to make people laugh in any situation. She was truly loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She especially enjoyed her pinochle club and having her hair done on Tuesday. She had a date with Lawrence Welk every Saturday night. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Phillips; step-son Randall "Zate" Phillips; great-grandson Drew Robinson; and son-in-law, Paul Gorseth. She is survived by her children, Reita Gorseth of Gardnerville, Nevada; Daniel (Alice) Robinson of Riverton; Marvin (Ann) Robinson of Casper; and Shirley Jean "Jeanie" (Mike) Fitzpatrick of Mills; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren; a nephew Donald Evans; her special friend Tami Fricke; and her little dog, Lady Bug. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 16, 2016 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2625 Casper Mountain Road. Pastor Dennis Pumford will officiate. Food and fellowship will follow the service. Cremation has taken place. Her cremains will be placed with her husband, Tom's, at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
