Shirley Ann Kercher, 77, died on July 25, 2016 while living at Life Care Center where she received excellent care, from April 12th until her death. She was born on July 6, 1939 at Natrona County Memorial Hospital in Casper, WY to Peter and Catherine Kercher. Shirley attended St. Anthony's and graduated from NCHS in 1957. She attended the University of Wyoming receiving an Associate's degree in Secretarial Science. She worked for Continental Oil as a secretary before moving to Hawaii and enjoyed the warm weather for several years. She later moved to Denver where she made it her home working as a certified court reporter until returning to Casper in 2009 due to the progression of her Parkinson's disease. She lived at Primrose with her mother who helped care for her until April. She was an excellent seamstress making a majority of her clothes, and enjoyed making crewel work pictures, which now adorn their apartment. She started the "mini general store" for the residents at Primrose for their everyday needs, which is quite successful and continues today. Other hobbies were playing Wii bowling, playing weekly poker with the "guys", and playing bingo. She always had a great sense of humor and loved being around people. She was a member of Chi Omega and was an active member of her church choir at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in Denver. She also participated in the musical production of the Sound of Music at City Park in Denver one year. She remained single, however, is survived by a very loving family, which includes her mother, Catherine, he sister Connie McMillan, 2 nieces, Shelly Weckwerth and Trisha Peters, and one nephew Eric McMillan. She also enjoyed being part of the 7 Great nephews' lives. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, on Friday, July 29, 2016 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with Fr. Thomas George officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 5:00PM to 7:00 PM with Vigil at 7:00PM at Bustard's Funeral Home.
