Shirley Day went home to be with Jesus on February 14, 2013. She was born the daughter of Nolan and Pauline Garner January 24, 1924 in North Platte, Nebraska. Her family moved to Casper in 1929, where she grew up and attended school. She married Max Adams and they had two daughters. They later divorced. In 1950 she married Bud Overbey they were together until 1978, when he passed away. She met and married Ross Day in 1980; they were together 28 years until he passed away. In her early years Shirley worked at B & B Café, she also worked at the hospital and for Doctor Holbrook. She was a member of the VFW. Shirley loved to camp, fish, play bingo, but most of all studying the word of God. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, she was also very kind to everyone she met. Shirley is survived by her daughter Pauline Hartnek of Casper, two brothers, William Garner and Jack Garner both of Casper, grandson and granddaughter John and Sheila Hartnek of Mills, great grandchildren, Robert Morehouse, Polliann Hartnek, Sally Cassin and Holly Bruner, great great grandchildren, Isabella Hartnek and Charles Kindall, and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Nolan and Pauline Garner, daughter Rebecca Adams, grandson Joseph Hartnek, two sister in-laws, Juanita Garner, and Mary Garner, two husbands Bob Overbey, and Ross Day. Services will be held on February 23rd at 2:00 PM at Word Christian Fellowship on 12th and Melrose. Pastor Dan Carlin will be leading the service.
