Mom, Grandma, Granny “G” also known as Shirley Mae (Lill) Allmaras, entered Heaven December 16, 2023 at home.
Mom was born July 20, 1935 in New Rockford, North Dakota to Anthony Matthew Lill and Grace Violet (Riedesel) Lill. She was raised on the family farm in Bremen, North Dakota.
She attended school in New Rockford, North Dakota. Mom met Joseph Robert Allmaras while in school. They were married June 12, 1953. The two of them were very young souls when getting married. They worked through joys and sorrows while raising eight children.
Mom had a very special place in her heart for her wonderful Grandchildren-All 32 of them. They added great joy and laughter in Mom’s life. She loved getting together with them, listening and spending time with them. Hearing of their accomplishments, watching their games, concerts, activities, and weddings. She was so proud of them all.
Mom was so grateful to be around to get to know her “76” Great Grandchildren. She had a comfy lap and loving arms for each Great. They kept the laughter flowing and the loving youthful heart in Mom strong.
Mom was a woman who showed her strength through her love and kindness. Her Faith she lived each day and her clear blue eyes never missed much with any of us.
Mom wore many hats throughout her life. She was a Cosmetologist and a great salesperson in retail. She was creative and loved crafts with a bit of bling. She was most home among her flower and garden beds. She had a green thumb she passed on to a few in the family. Mom will be greatly missed and yet she is present as we look to one another and see the gifts she passed on to each of us. In Heaven if there are flowers Mom will stop and enjoy their beauty.
Shirley is survived by her children: Rick (Rhonda) Allmaras of Casper, Wyoming, Rita (Henry) Richter of Laramie, Wyoming, Randy (Tina) Allmaras of Houston, Texas, Robert (Colleen) Allmaras of Houston, Texas, Rachelle Allmaras Donaldson of Casper, Wyoming, Rhonda (Allen) Paulson of Casper, Wyoming. Brother: David Lill of Cathay, North Dakota, Sister: Linda Schafer of New Rockford, North Dakota, Sister-in-Laws: Pam Lill of Bismarck, North Dakota, and Lois Alrick of Shelby, Montana, along with several nieces and nephews.
