Scott Chipperfield

August 2, 1962 — January 7, 2013

Scott Chipperfield passed away unexpectedly January 7, 2013. Scott was born August 2, 1962 to Ed and Helen Chipperfield in Rawlins, WY. Scott graduated from Rawlins High School in 1980. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree from University of Wyoming in 1985. Scott was first and foremost a family man. He married the love of his life, Laura Grenevitch, in 1994. Together with their children Cody and Kendal, they enjoyed summers at Seminoe, athletic events and games, traveling, and Windsurfing. Scott also enjoyed hunting with his dad and son. Scott's enthusiasm and love of life were apparent to everyone who met him. He was most proud of his wrestling accomplishments, both as a Wyoming State Champion in HSand WAC Champion at the University of Wyoming. He always said his years as an athlete helped develop his strong positive attitude and work ethic; ..."if one could get through a wrestling season, they could get through anything". Scott was a special person who touched the lives of anyone he met. Scott's greatest love was for family and friends. He was a loving father to his children; a wonderful loving husband, son and brother. His smile and laugh were contagious. No one was a stranger. Scott worked as a Petroleum Engineer with Wyoming Energy Consultants with his longtime friend, Joe Corbett. He started his career with Conoco. Through the years he worked overseas in Russia and with friends at Continental Industries. Scott is survived by his wife, Laura; children Cody and Kendal; parents, Ed and Helen Chipperfield of Rawlins; sister, Annette (husband, Scott) Penman; nephews Derrick and Devan and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Services will be held at Highland Park Community Church, Saturday, January 12, at 10:30 AM, with Pastor Cynthia McBride officiating. Attendees may wear WYO or tropical attire in honor of Scott if they choose. Family and Friends are invited to attend a reception at the Petroleum Club following the service. Memorials may be made to The Fellowship of Christian Athletes or The University of Wyoming Wrestling Club.
