Sarah Sims

Sarah Johnson Simms passed away on April 21, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Casper, Wyoming. At her request, she has been cremated. A memorial service will be held to honor her life on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Boyd Avenue Baptist Church at 2 pm. Sarah was born in Birmingham, Alabama on April 17, 1924 to Mr. and Mrs. John Roy Johnson. She married Jackson L. Simms, Sr. on April 27, 1942 in Birmingham, Alabama and moved to Laurel, Mississippi in 1950. Sarah and her family then moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1954 where she held secretarial positions with Great Plains Life and New York Life along with being the secretary of First Southern Baptist Church. Sarah was part of the founding group for College Heights Baptist Church and served as the secretary until her retirement. She was extremely active in all aspects of church life. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jackson L. Simms, Sr. Sarah is survived by her two sons, Jack (Toni) Simms and Jim (Barbara) Simms; along with seven grandchildren and eleven great grand children. She loved all of her family especially her grandchildren who brought her a great deal of pleasure.
